In 2006 David became the owner of Priority Management Interior BC / Okanagan Training Solutions, a global training Company teaching people how to be more effective, reduce stress and gain control over their daily activities.
Okanagan Training Solutions focuses on workshops within the following categories : Workload Management, Outlook Training, Project management, Selling and negotiating and customer service.
* Some of the companies and organizations that have participated in the evaluation include: Xerox Corp., KPMG, PepsiCo, Bell, Jaguar Land Rover, Boeing, FedEx and Michelin.
Being the "techie" that I am, I was somewhat unconvinced when I went through the initial training . In fact, I changed quite a few of the reconfigurations back right after class.
At the TTT, I made a commitment to myself to make the changes and leave them for at least a month. I am so glad that I did. It has been an unbelievable experience and has had a dramatic change on my daily organization. So much so, that I can't wait to have another opportunity to facilitate this class again and share some personal experiences and benefits.
It is one of the best things that I have experienced in 2007 (and so far that has been a short list!! :-) )I knew how to use Outlook (from a software perspective) but missed the boat from a productivity point. Now, I even turned off the alerts on the BlackBerry.
I was surprised that no one noticed that I didn't respond for a couple of hours!!! I have more time to do what I need to do and I am not tied to email or the BlackBerry (well...at least the email!)For the classes that I have done so far, the feedback has been great. Each individual experiences the changes in a different way but to a person, they all say it has been better.
One tip that I now use is to create a task and assign it to the participants (due in 30 days), rather than sending a thank you email. In the body of the task, I thank them for participating and ask them to submit some feedback after using the "new" Outlook for 30 days.
It not only accomplishes the same thing as the email but the participants see first hand how to use it immediately!I am a HUGE fan of the process and what it will accomplish if given the chance. Thanks to those who brought the process to our company and for allowing me to be involved.
After completing the “Priority Management” with you I have taken some of the techniques that you discussed and have put them to use in my everyday life and find that it is not only helping me with my job, but my family life has improved. I get to spend more time with children and wife and still can be affective in my position. I have focused on the delegation area of your course and have found that by following the 5 step process and especially the last step, “Reward” that l have freed up some precious time and I can now balance my work with my personal time. Thank you for introducing this to me!
